Real Estate Extended Home Buyer Tax Credit
Extended Home Buyer Tax Credit 2009/2010
On Nov. 6, 2009, President Obama signed the Unemployment Compensation Extension Act (H.R. 3548) into law. It included, as an amendment, an extension and expansion of the Homebuyer Tax Credit. All changes in the bill became effective on Nov. 6 2009, the day the bill was signed.
The Homebuyer Tax Credit was extended for first-time homebuyers who sign a binding contract by April 30, 2010 and close on the purchase by June 30, 2010; and expanded to include a $6,500 credit for current homeowners who purchase a new primary residence. Under the terms of the legislation, "current" homeowners must have used the home they have sold, or that is being sold, as their primary residence consecutively for five of the past eight years. In addition, other eligibility requirements apply, including income limits.

All homebuyers must sign a contract before April 30 and close by June 30.
The income limits were also raised:
Single buyers can now earn up to $125,000
and still get the full credit while a married couple can earn $225,000.
First-time buyers --
those who have not
owned a home in the past three years --
still qualify for an $8,000 rebate.

Those that want to trade up can also qualify.
Those who have owned and occupied a residence
for at least five years out of the past eight
can claim a $6,500 tax credit if
they close on a purchase by the end of June 2010.

A new day in real estate...
A new day in real estate. Each day I start a new day in Real Estate I wonder what will today bring. I have a calendar, a plan of event and than the phone starts to ring !
Now in Real Estate the phone rining is a great thing! So, today's day in real estate was a great one!
Everyone thinks that real estate is about houses, but it is not Real Estate is about people.
